Campus Confidential

This year I have the honor of consulting Greek students and undergraduate InterVarsity staff at five other campuses in North Carolina and Virginia. Each campus is at a different stage of ministry growth and development. Click on the school below for an update on what is going on at each campus. And please be in prayer for the Greek students at these schools who are trying to start ministry within their fraternity, sorority, or Greek system at large with very little 'adult supervision'!

University of North Carolina in Wilmington

For several years there have been a smattering of Greek students involved in ministry at UNC-W. The campus has sent at least a couple women to the last three Greek conferences, and one woman - now a volunteer - went to Rockbridge Summer Camp with the intent of starting a ministry within her sorority. Heather is now helping to start a Greek-specific ministry on her campus as an alumna, with the help of the the InterVarsity staff and an Indiana University alum.

The IV staff at UNC-W, in his first year at the school, is very enthusiastic about Greek ministry and wants to help out in any

way he can. The current plan calls for an all-Greek social and interest meeting sometime in November, followed by weekly bible studies for men and women, depending on the turnout at that interest meeting. I think there is great potential for Greek ministry to thrive at that campus as Greeks come together in community and grow in faith with one another.

Pray for: Matt, the staff at UNC-W and his continued passion and enthusiasm for Greek ministry; Heather, UNC-W alumna, as she volunteers her time to lead a women's Greek bible study; men and women to come to this interest meeting; my guidance, encouragement and shepherding of Matt & Heather.
